Prince Knut of Nanook, Champion Bloodline
Sable w/Black Points, Bi-Eyed
D.O.B. 11/27/2007
AKC #WS24165005
Our regal golden boy Prince Knut has a fine Champion pedigree dating back to the very first AKC registered Huskies. From his paternal line Knuts lineage is well documented back to the most well known Champions, kennels and offspring of Innisfree, Monadnock, Chinook, Frosty Aire, Alyeska, Cold River and of course to Harry Wheeler along with Leonard and Constance Seppala with direct lineage to the renowned sled dogs of the Great Serum Run of Alaska. Knut is a well-muscled male AKC registered purebred Siberian Husky and descends from the most excellent in breed stock. His ancestry boasts such names as Chevak's Tymber of Tanacross and Winters Run Snow Dancer; Monadnock's Pando, Monadnock's Akela, Valuiki of Cold River, Frosty Aire's Beauchien,
Wonalancet's Baldy of Alyeska, Innisfree's Tannacross Tanner, Innisfree's Pegasus and the three time #1 US Champion, Innisfree's Sierra Cinnar. These are but a scant few of the long line of Champions that shine in Knut's ancestral heritage. In comparing Knut's photograph with those of his ancestors, it is obvious that Knut, with his open face markings much like King's, resembles his direct ancestors CH Monadnock's Pando AKC/W609980 and his progeny CH Monadnock's King AKC/W755117 both of which actually originated out of the Seppala strain. Monadnock's Pando is considered to have been the most significant stud dog in the ongoing saga of the breed. He set the breed standard for the Siberian Husky and has been credited as the forerunner in the black and white, blue-eyed trend of the Siberian Husky breed.
As an added note, Knut's famous ancestor Ch Monadnock's Pando took Best in Siberian Show in four consecutive years 1957, 1958, 1959, 1960. He won 5 consecutive BOB at Wesminster KC and was #1 Siberian in 1961 and 1962.
It is historically believed that "Ch Monadnock's Pando [was] the dog who changed the face of the Siberian Husky breed" as "the first great modern Siberian Husky show dog." The new lineage created out of the vision of Lorna Demidoff in cosmetic selection moved the Siberian Husky away from the working sled dog breed as it became embedded more and more into the show dog arena. Knut is directly descended from Mrs. Demidoff's show dog strain. Additionally, Knut's ancestral lineage to the sled dogs of Seppala's and Wheeler's

Knut's direct lineage includes many historic early champions of the Siberian Husky breed, especially from the Monadnock lineage, some of which are pictured here.

This fall Prince Knut of Nanook bred with both Davis's Princess Lorelei and Cafitachiqui's Diamond Denalli. Out of the matings Knut sired 15 beautiful pups. One of those little critters bears a close resemblance to his sire Prince Knut with gorgeous crystal blue eyes. He has been named by his new companion Knut's Ameranda Delano which means, Knut's Immortal One. We have been informed that his nickname will be Manny. We feel certain little Manny will live up to his new name.

Pictured at left is little Many shortly after leaving us for his new York County home.
Another of the pups whelped from the mating of Knut and Lorelei has been chosen to remain with us at Cafitachiqui. She is a gorgeous, bi-eyed copper girl that looks very much like Monadnock's great sire Akela. From matings with Monadnock's Akela, Knut's lineage includes such champions as Innisfree's Tannacross Tanner and Innisfree's Sierra Cinnar. Our little sibe girl's name was chosen as a legacy to her early champion ancestors. We have decided to name our beautiful girl Knut's Artanna Cinnar. She will be called Tanna. View more of her photos at http://huskiesextraordinaire.webs.com/apps/photos/ in the "Our Husky Babies" and "New Additions ..." photo albums.
